Horatio Park

Ryan came in today and starting building an "invisible subway" in block area.  Lukas and Evan came over and wanted to join in. Lukas used the ramp Ryan made as a walkway for his cat and Evan used it for the dump truck. Meanwhile in the other room, Evan and Ms. Erica were reading a book about sharks that Evan came in with. In the Sunflower's room Ava's birthday card was on one table and on the other was the purple box (the children painted yesterday) with collage materials.

During morning meeting we talked about NOT splattering paint by the easel because of the self-portraits close by. We do not want to ruin those drawings! With the help of Oliver, Ms. Rebecca read Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons. Always a crowd pleaser!

Then we all went to Horatio park where the children played tag, blew bubbles, drew with chalk and ran around! What a gorgeous day.

When we returned to school, Ryan and Alex continued to build upon Ryan's structure from earlier in the morning, which kept falling. Jake and Eli also worked alongside Ryan and Alex and balanced colored blocks on quad-longs. On the tables Ashley, Oliver and Isabel bedazzled Ava's birthday castle present with glitter.

During lunch the Daisies played the sticker game. The Sunflowers had a discussion about how sometimes babies and little kids can be really frustrating because they break toys and don't know how to share. Ava, our resident baby whisperer, provided everyone with helpful tips and suggestions.
