Rules!

Today during circle time we talked about school rules. Ryan Q said it would be a good idea to put a sign on our door to let us know that only adult can touch the doors. Ava and Eli agreed that people could hurt when playing on the stairs and Ryan C said that "if you knock down structures you have to help them re-build it." Then we read Leonardo The Terrible Monster which is a book about friendship. 

After morning meeting, some children worked on a friendship painting using flowers and summer materials while others worked in the Daisies classroom on cards and a crown for Ryan. Luca, Evan, Tate, Ryan C., and Lukas played with the train tracks and tunnels on the rug in the Daisy's room. Ashley, Ava, Jake, Margot, and Isabel were a family reading books together and trying to take a sick baby Ava to the doctor.

We noticed that many children were eager to jump and move about, so we took out a large play tunnel. At one point Ryan C. informed the class that anyone who moved through the tunnel would become a guinea pig. Tate, Sasha and Mason also spent part of the morning cutting play doh into tiny pieces with pizza rollers. Also Alexander sat for a long time with Erica, persistently cutting foam into little pieces.
