A trip to the mailbox

Since we had another tour today, the children spent the entire morning in the Sunflower's class.

All of the children put the friendship necklaces they made last week into envelopes and some children made cards to go with them. Ryan C. went to the dramatic play area and said, "We're working in the post office." Sam, Lukas and Sasha joined him and began using the x-rays as letters and the hollow blocks as mailboxes. Soon, much of the class joined them.

We also brought Lightning into the Sunflowers room and everyone was very excited to make drawings of her. Ashley drew Lightening's eyes and Isabel drew all of her feathers. Eli then brought over some pretend pizza to see if he could feed it to her through her cage. To everyone's surprise, she started biting it. Alexander and Tate then began bringing other pretend food to see if she would eat the play cucumbers, toast and eggs.

We cleaned up a bit early and walked to the mailbox to mail the necklaces the children made for their friends.
