More rules

During morning meeting today we looked at the rules the children have come up with and consolidated them into three rules so it is easier for us to remember. Here are the rules:

1. Use safe hands
2. Use inside voice
3. Follow teacher direction

Then we read No, David by David Shannon which the children thought was hilarious!

There was a lot going on today during work time. We were very excited to see so many children in the block area today. Sasha and Ryan Q. made a tower together and Ryan C. and Tate built a structure that they placed animals on. Margot made a structure using a lot of triangles and Ryan Q. built a wall. Structures fell many times throughout the morning, but other structures were re-built in their place. Matthew, Evan, and Ryan C. spent a lot of time at the light table where they made "boxes on top of boxes."

In the Sunflower's room, Sam, Izzie, Tate, Sasha, Ashley, Jake, Luca, Mason, Matthew and Margot worked on finishing friendship bracelets and even made some for themselves and their families. At another point Mason and Sasha decided to collaborate on an easel painting.

Since a plate broke today in the kitchen area, for our reflection meeting we talked about safety and rules regarding kitchen toys.
