There was a tour in the Daisies classroom today, so we all worked in the Sunflowers room this morning. Everyone participated in circle time today, singing counting songs and listened to the story Moon Rabbit.
During our project work time, Sasha, Alexander, Eli, Jake, and Isabel all worked on rolling the play dough and added textures with their fingers. Tate wanted to make a card for his brother Graham, so he took out paper, markers and "fancy" scissors. Ryan Q., Alexander, Sasha, and Eli joined him and cut paper into smaller and smaller pieces. Evan, Ryan C., Luca, Matthew, and Tate worked with the trains and negotiated the placement of tunnels and the speed at which the trains would move. Nearly every child made an appearance in the kitchen area at some point, including Mason who donned a chef hat and enthusiastically fed Rebecca lettuce.
As a part of our exploration of friendship this week, we began making friendship necklaces for a specific friend. Sasha, Eli, Jake, Luca, Margot and Tate strung beads on a thread to make the necklaces which they will be mailing to each other next week.
Both the Daisies and the Sunflowers class played "Somebody's, everybody's or teacher's only" during lunch.
