Happy Half-Birthday Mason!

Mason turned 3.5 years old today and everyone was so excited to celebrate! In the morning many children helped decorate a card for Mason. Also, Sam and Ryan worked in the block area creating a special birthday birdhouse.

For morning meeting, we sang Bingo using the letters of Mason's name, Happy Birthday and played Round and round the birthday troll goes. Then both Shari and John, Mason's parents, joined us to read Mason's favorite book, How Do Dinosaurs Go To School? and donated a copy to the school. Afterwards the children presented Mason with his birthday card and the portrait they made of him out of magnatiles. Next, everyone got up to dance on the tables to some of Mason's favorite songs.

The Sunflowers and Daisies divided for French. Ava wrote a birthday card for Mason that said, "I love you, Mason." Many children used the bus in the Daisies room driving all around New York City and to Mason's Mimi and Pop Pops house. Almost all of the Daisies chose to explore the Sweet Peas room; in particular the sandbox was a big hit. Many of the Sunflowers opted to stay on the blue rug and read books with each other.

At the end of the day, we sang Happy Birthday to Mason as he passed out cupcakes to all the children with his mom. Thank you so much Shari and John for coming in to celebrate with us!
