We're going to the circus!

We were all so excited to be back at school today and I think the children were really happy to be back too!
We started off morning meeting right away by talking about what we did over the break. Evan told us he went on a plane for 15 hours to South Africa, Oliver said he went to the movies and Tate made holiday cookies.

Then we talked about our upcoming trip to the circus and what sorts of things we might see there. Ava thought we might see elephants ad clowns, Isabel said there would be rats and Eli said we would see rhinoceroses. Then Ms. Rebecca read Sidewalk Circus.

When the Sunflowers had music with Evan some of the Daisies, plus Ryan, Ava and Margot talked about Evan (in the Daisies class) and what we can make his portrait out of (his birthday celebration will be Friday). Some suggestions were blocks, tape, plastic and metal.

We had music with Evan and he told us a story about birdman and the cake family. During free play time, Matthew, Tate and Sam spent time putting out a fire from a dragon's breath. Oliver made "a famous machine that puts fire out" and  later showed it for Show and Tell.

During free play time, Ms. Rebecca worked with Luca, Margot, Matthew and Tate on holiday traditions and self-portraits with Ashley and Mason. Meanwhile, Ryan Q and Sasha worked on puzzles with Edwin and Margot, Izzie, Mason, Sam and Ashley made circus masks with dot dots, crayons and gliltter. Also, Luca, Evan, Oliver and spent a lot of time cleaning the babies at the water table.

During lunch, the Sunflowers and Daisies changed jobs.
