Coils and clocks

At morning meeting, we sang 5 Little Monkeys Swinging in a tree and Evan suggested we sing  more quietly each subsequent verse. We also looked at the clock we made as a class and set it to the time of our real clock on the wall. Then Deb came and read us two stories about animals in French.

During freeplay, Margot, Eli, Jake, Isabel and Ashley finished their own clocks by writing numbers themselves and attaching arms. Ashley in particular was ecstatically proud with each number she drew.

Many children worked with clay and practiced making snakes and coils with Nissa. At another table, a number of children made drawings with crayons and markers; Ryan Q. made a picture of himself and all of his friends at school and Matthew made a drawing of a cow walking to the farm to see his friends.

Jake and Isabel spent some time looking at their portfolios while Edwin worked with Mason as he painted at the easel.

In the dramatic play area Luca, Sam and Tate tried putting out a fire because Matthew was too busy on the computer and then later on Ryan, Sam and Alex held babies and tried not to wake them.

During lunch the Daisies class requested we read Olivia Saves the Circus and Sunflowers read the bear book again and talked about different ways in which to perform it and different ways to add to the book.
