Snowflakes, doctors and beans

After we all said good-morning, Jake led the song, Five Little Ducks Went Out To Play and he took away one duck after each verse. Then we talked to the children about why we had off from school yesterday. We talked with the children about who Martin Luther King Jr. was and that how he helped people become more accepting of differences and Ryan Casey knew a lot about this topic and told us all about how black people at one time had to sit at the back of the bus and were not allowed to do the same things as white people. Then Ms. Rebecca read, Amazing Grace.

After story we split up Sam, Izzie, Ava and Eli worked on making a present for Jake's birthday out of salt dough they made themselves while the other children worked in the Daisy's class. Ryan, Evan and Oliver helped paint a large clock and then put on the numbers.

At the sensory table, Eli and Alex spent a lot of time making bean cakes and measuring beans into different size containers. On the rug, Sam, Alex and Ryan make an ark for animals.

Oliver made a shrinking machine and Ryan Casey made a mountain out of clay and then he put beans all around it. Evan helped.

On the table, Jake worked with Grandpa and made snowflakes by cutting lines on folded white paper. Later on, Oliver, Izzie and Eli also made snowflakes.

Ava adamantly wanted to play doctor and since other friends were busy, Rebecca was her first patient. Quickly Sam and Eli joined. Ava measured Rebecca's heart rate, Sam administered shots and Eli checked her ears, eyes and tummy. When Rebecca was healed, Ava became the next patient and Alex joined the treatment team, assisting Sam.
