This morning we talked about our Central Park trip and what we might see tomorrow. Izzie said we would see, "campfires, leaves and marshmallows," Oliver said "leaves" and Jake thought we would see "a scary pumpkin." Then we read a book about different kinds of leaves. After morning meeting we had dance with Elizabeth.
During work time, Lukas added spikes to his dragon costume and Ashley added decorations to her costume using pom poms, foam paper and marker. Izzie helped her.
Isabel and Ava made jack-o-lanterns using black foam paper. Izzie make a "funny pumpkin with three eyes" and Ryan and Oliver played doctor in the writing center. Oliver took Ryan's blood pressure and Ava, Jake and Lukas worked with the yellow flubber. They figured out a way to stretch it almost across the whole room!
On the rug, Ava, Jake and Ryan built separate structures. Jake built a zoo while Ava was set on balancing the quad-long to create a tall castle. She then balanced triangles and other blocks to make swings and a sitting area. Ryan really like Ava's idea of making a tall tower; he watched her closely as she built and replicated certain aspects of her design.
During lunch since the Daisies class were missing so many children today, we added all the children in school with all the children not in school. 4+4=8. The Sunflowers adamantly campaigned to read Steam Train, Dream Train during lunch and Ms. Rebecca was persuaded.
