Fall collage

What a busy day we had today! We started off by singing Halloween songs and then we talked about our trip to Central Park.We looked at some pictures from the trip and examined some leaves. Then we took out a leaf book and tried to match some leaves to the ones in the book. Then we read Ghosts in the Cellar and voted on the features for our jack-o-lantern.

During work time, Alexander worked on his costume and Izzie and Ashley helped. Matthew added feathers and pom pom to his costume and Alexander helped. Ryan Casey also worked on his costume and added the letter B-A-T. Many children worked on a fall collage using the leaves we collected on Friday and we also carved part of our pumpkin in the sensory table. Oliver, Alexander and Ryan Casey helped separate the seeds from the guts. On the rug in the Daisies classroom, Ashley and Jake built a house for Lightning. Izzie later on came to help and added stones.

In the Sunflowers room, six children added pom-poms, foam and feather details to their costumes with lots of help from friends. Then, there were emergencies everywhere in the Sunflowers lassroom! Evan and Tate made fire trucks out of dollhouse furniture and Luca made a rescue plane. Tate, Ava and Eli tried to put out a fire in dramatic play, while Mason comforted the baby who was afraid of all the commotion and then fed her dinner.
