Halloween is on it's way

Today during morning meeting, we first talked about some of the changes in the Sunflowers room and where we could find the materials we were looking for. We then reflected on some comments the children have made about who Lightning is friends with and continued our discussion. Ryan Q. thought that Lightning would be friends with other birds and Izzie thought she would want to be friends with another cockatiel. We decided that for Halloween we would dress up as Lightning's friends.

During our work time, we began to work on our Halloween costumes. Ava started painting her witch costume, Eli, his "man that's a hero that flies" costume and Ryan Q., his painted bird costume. Tate, Matthew and Ryan Q. were firefighters and turned into paramedics, driving an invisible ambulance to classroom emergencies. At the end of the morning Rebecca fell ill and was attended to by a classroom of young doctors.

At the end of the morning, the Daisies began to prepare for Alexander's birthday and the Sunflowers and some Daisies signed up for their birdhouse committee of choice. The birdhouse committees will be meeting this week and next to begin building a birdhouse for Lightning.
