Costume painting

We sang apple, pumpkin and Halloween songs during morning meeting and then the children acted out Five little pumpkins sitting on a fence. Then we talked about our Halloween costumes and the children each told us what they were going to be. When we read Ghosts in the Cellar the children sat almost motionless during the entire story with their mouths open.

We had dance with Elizabeth and then we worked on Halloween costumes. Sam, Ashley, Alex and Lukas painted their costumes and Rebecca worked on the other table making bracelets/wristbands for our costumes. In the science center Ashley was Ava's doctor and use the light table x-rays to look inside her body. Alex, Jake and Sam read nearly 3 books in a row together on the rug.

During lunch, the Sunflowers read a book about the human body. We talked about different systems (nervous, circulatory, respiratory) and doctors that specialized in each area. Grandpa Barys told us a little bit about how he used to be an anesthesiologist. During lunch the Daisy's read The Problem With Mom and then later talked about the apple picking pictures. Izzie suggested we go on a banana picking trip next time.
