Let's add sound effects to the play

This morning we said good morning and said our favorite fruit. Then we talked about parent night tonight and we told the children there might be surprise for them tomorrow. They were very excited!

A few weeks ago Evan had the idea of using a drum for the parts when the bear appeared so we wanted to talk about this further! So we talked about the Bear Book and we read the book while thinking about what instruments to use for the different parts. After choosing instruments, we formed a band and performed the play. We need some practice but in a few weeks we will perform it for both the Sweet Peas and for the pre-k class down in Tribeca.

During work time Oliver, Lukas, Jake, Evan and Isabel painted their wooden structures and Ashley made one. In the other room, Ms. Rebecca started on April self-portraits with Ava, Jake, and Ashley. On the rug, some children went fishing for numbers. "What fish do you want to catch for dinner?" I heard Isabel say.

After a little bit of work, we decided to take a walk to get some fresh (not so cold) air. We walked through the Jackson Square Park on the corner where we introduced ourselves to Nancy the gardener at the park who will be working with us tomorrow and in the next few months. More info to come tonight and tomorrow.

During lunch the Daisies played the sticker game twice and read Sleepless Beauty and the Sunflowers read Hansel and Gretel and talked about some of the things that make us feel scared.
