The BMS cleaning crew attacks the walls

Before clean up Ryan and Oliver decided to help Ms. Rebecca clean the jars in the bathroom. This led to them cleaning the walls of the bathroom which then led to the cleaning of the doors etc. They did such a good job that Ms. Rebecca gave them each $20 for their hard work.

During morning meeting we talked about our upcoming performance down in  Tribeca Thursday. We asked the children how the other school will know about our performance? Ryan Casey thought we could send a note; Alex wanted to deliver it and Eli said we could stick it in a mail truck. We also talked about having tickets for see the performance. There was some disagreement about whether we should have tickets but I think the consensus was that there should be tickets. Then we practiced our performance and Jake help make strawberry noises on his guitar. It's getting better (sort of).

Then during work time Isabel, Eli, and Lukas worked on making invitations and tickets. Isabel invented something so the children could wear the ticket around their wrists! On the other table, Ashley and Jake used scissors to make more knives for our play.

In the block area, Ashley and Jake replicated their structure from yesterday added new details such as a pool and a chimney. Sam, Alex and Ryan collaborated on a rocketship and Oliver experimented with making slides at different angles.

Later in the morning, Ms. Erica worked with Evan, Lukas and Isabel on their April self-portraits while Ashley and Jake made a castle with the magna-tiles. At one point Jake had to go to the bathroom and Ashley said, "I can't do this without you" to which Jake replied, "I know, don't worry I'll be right back."

All of sudden the cleaning crew emerged again and one by one, each child went to the bathroom, got a sponge, a bucket and soapy water and started cleaning the walls, the mirror, the floor, and the doors. They were going crazy cleaning and having a blast doing it! Evan said, "we have a big emergency cleaning crew!" As they cleaned the room, they all said, "we're the cleaning crew!" Parents: if you're smart, you might want to take advantage of this new found interest if you know what I mean ;)

At one point Ryan, Sam and Alex were looking at their portfolios and cracking up. Then Lukas and Isabel decided to take theirs our too.

During lunch both the Daisies and Sunflowers admired the butterflies they created for the park. The Daisies then read The Fungus That Ate My School. The Sunflowers read Pierre and then snacked on some matzoh and read Hooray Passover!
