Beach Day!

Today was a wet and wild day! Many children made collages with sand and special sea life glitter (Matthew and Tate in particular, enjoyed this activity, each making multiple collages). There were also lots of readers, stretching out on towels and catching some sun.

After saying hello at morning meeting, we said goodbye to our intern, Sujey, whose last day was today. We gave her a thank you card that all the children worked on and Sujey made each child a butterfly with their name and brought in ice-pops, which the children adored. Then everyone had French together with Deb.

After French, the beach party really began. The teachers filled a children's pool and everyone who wanted had a turn going in for a dip. Mason, Sam, Luca, Ryan Q. and Ava got especially wet, laughing as them poured buckets of water over each other's heads.

Nearby, Ava's mom, Erin, came in to make smoothie's with the children which everyone gobbled up! Then she stayed to help hold the limbo pole in a school wide limbo fiesta. Some children also opted to get a fun, beach temporary tattoo or catch bubbles.

Both classes had a beach picnic on the rug for lunch today. The Sunflowers read Fun Dog, Sun Dog while the Daisies read I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean.
