Spring fever...and a visit from the dentist

As the children entered school this morning they noticed flowers on all the tables as well as pastel colors to paint with. Isabel was thrilled to see the flowers all around the school and as she started to walk around with them, the other children did too.

"I love denstistes and I love check ups!" Ava said this morning. When Rebecca said the dentist was coming after morning meeting, Ava replied, "I'm so excited for the dentist to come! Morning meeting is going to be so long!" Many other children echoed similar sentiments as we waited on pins and needles for the dentist to arrive.

During morning meeting we sang good morning using the beach ball and then we talked about going to the dentist. Then the Sunflowers joined the Sweet Peas to talk with the dentist. We learned about food that is healthy and unhealthy for our teeth. The dentists showed us the tools they use during check-ups and let us touch and feel them.

While the Sunflowers were with the dentist, the Daisies had a surprise visitor from Evan's grandpa who read us a story about how much fun preschool is and all the fun and exciting things children do at school. Then as we waited for the dentist we played a listening game with the bells. The dentist then came in and each had an opportunity to brush Chomper's teeth (a large stuffed dog).

After the visit from the dentist and Evan's grandpa, we all took a trip to the park to celebrate spring.

During lunch the Daisies read 10 Minutes Until Bedtime by Peggy Rathman which the children really loved and the Sunflowers read the book Jake brought in for Show and Tell and talked about nice ways to talk to friends and then they read Cookie's Week (twice).
