"let's go to Brazil"

We sang good-morning today in several languages again and then looked at flags from all around the world. We noticed similarities and differences in the flags and looked at the map. The children were very excited when they recognized the flags of their origin.

We read a book about what people eat all over the world in different countries and then half of us had French and half had an ethnic snack. Sasha shared croissants, Tate shared rugelach and rainbow cookies, Matthew shared Italian cookies and Sam shared Brazilian bonbons made with cashew and creme filling.

Deborah the French teacher showed the children her flag of Belgium and talked about the colors in French.

During work time Ashley, Luca, Sasha, Lukas, Ava, Tate, Sam, Isabel, and Mason decorated dolls with a picture of their face, markers and flags. On the other table, children made flags using different colored construction paper shapes.

On the brown rug, Evan, Matthew, Luca, Alex, Sam and Lukas and built a pirate ship. The ship kept getting holes so the children invented something that lifted their seats.

In  the doctor's office, Ava hurt her finger and Ryan hurt his leg. Sasha and Margot were the doctors and tried to help but not much was done and I think the patients left without a resolution.

Lukas solved a bunch of problems throughout the morning and Sam fed Lightning.

For Show and Tell, Sam shared his Brazilian drum and Matthew shared his Irish counting book. Sasha told us more about the croissants she brought in and Tate shared an atlas.

During lunch the Daisies (with the the help of Margot and Ryan Q.) today, we wrote a little more of Oliver's birthday book. The Sunflowers finished reading the fable they started on Monday about Krishna and King Kamsa.
