Putting on a play and going to the park

The doctors saw many patients early this morning and during our morning meeting we talked about some of the logistics of running the office. For example, who would open and close the office and make appointments? Jake was adamant that we needed to take turns. Eli thought it could be a job in the classroom and Ava suggested we add it to the job chart.

Next the Sunflowers and Daisies divided; while one class had French, the other class acted out The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear. We discussed acting out the play in front of a larger audience, possibly the Sweet Peas or parents and what we would need to do to get ready in terms of adding to our costumes and props. Ryan Q. thought our mouse needed ears and Mason wanted it to have a long tail, which Sam and Isabel also suggested in the Daisies meeting. We had a little time to add to some of our costumes, including gluing black seeds onto the strawberry and an ear headpiece for the mouse.

As soon as both groups finished French we were off to the playground! Luca discovered the fun of rolling down a gentle slope and soon, Tate, Matthew, Mason and Ryan Casey joined him. Sasha, Margot and Jake loved going fast down the slide. Oliver chased groups of children all around the playground trying to catch everyone.

At lunch the Sunflowers had show and tell and read To Market, To Market which the children found uproariously funny. The Daisies had show and tell and we read Frank Was a Monster Who Wanted To Dance which was also hilarious.
