We started our morning early today. We sang good morning and then the children exchanged the bookmarks they made for each other on Tuesday. Then we were lucky to have Isabel's mom, Shannon, come in and read Owen by Kevin Henkes.
Accompanied by Ava, Jake and Isabel's moms, we were off to the book fair and studio at the Tribeca Buckle My Shoe. When we arrived, we divided into two groups. While one group visited the studio, the other group went to the book fair and then played in the gym.
In the studio, the children explored using doctors tools such as bandages and syringes with paint to make art. One group of children used squirt bottles at the easel to make a drip painting. The clay table was also popular, especially for budding chefs. Eli made chocolate ice cream and Ava and Ashley made birthday cakes. Sam created a microphone and Ryan a telephone.
Thank you to all the parents who were able to come with us today! And remember staff development is tomorrow, so we'll see you Monday!
