International Fashion Show Day

Wow, what a busy day! We started off all together (all three classes) and sang good morning in Japanese, Italian, Spanish, French and German! Then we had our fashion show! The teachers went first and then each child (if they wanted) walked on the runway, stood on the table and told us their name and where they were from. Of course music was also playing in the background and we were all dancing. I think the teachers had more fun than the children.

Directly after the fashion show, we were surprised by Evan's Dad who read us a hilarious book called, The Runaway Dinner. Evan laughed and made sure his friends were laughing too as he looked at their faces after each page. The children thoroughly enjoyed the book and when the sausage ran away, Alexander said, "that's crazy!"

After surprise reader we split up and half the children enjoyed ethnic treats from Alexander and Mason while the other half had yoga with Lakshmi and then we switched. Lakshmi read the book My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss and then the children acted out each page as a different animal.  During the snack time, Alexander shared Polish and Romanian bread and apple desserts and Mason shared bagels....all so delicious! Thank you to all the parents and caregivers who helped out this week! We are all very full.

During work time Isabel, Alex, Margot, Evan, Luca, and Sasha made rangoli designs with sand and Ryan C, Isabel, Sasha, Sam and Evan worked on cards for Oliver while Oliver, Mason, Matthew and Ryan Q played with the leggos in the Daisies classroom.

Ava, Evan, Eli, Ashley and Sam also explored the Sweet Peas class and danced with Jenny and played in the sandbox.

During lunch the Daisies wrote the ending of Oliver's story and the Sunflowers read Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain.
