Today we sang Hello how are you in French! While the Sunflower's had French with Deborah, the Daisy's sat on the rug and Alexander took attendance and Evan told us the weather. Then we acted out Pierre. Today, Sam played the role of Pierre and Matthew was the father.
Then the Daisy's had French and the Sunflower's spent some time in the Daisy's classroom. Ashley and Margot were Ava's doctors taking notes on her condition and making tools out of construction paper. Ryan Q., Sasha and Mason helped Rebecca create an obstacle course on the rug out of hollow blocks and spots.
When the doors opened, Sher and Ms. Rebecca worked on making snow globes with the children. They chose what animal they wanted for their snow globe and then they added glycerin, water and glitter!
When the snow globes were finished the children wrapped them and put them in a box. They they decorated the box. These will be gifts for the parents.
In dramatic play, at one point Sam's mom was stuck in the door of a train and he needed to find a "guy with a dump truck to fix it." Then on the rug Ryan Casey and Evan built a fence with large hallow blocks and with the unit blocks in the Daisy's classroom. In the Sunflower's room, Alex built a path to a garden with the large hollow blocks.
During lunch the Daisies took a poll of what foods were in their lunch and the Sunflowers read Where The Wild Things Are. Jake suggested we act out the book another day.
Many thanks to Sher for coming in to help us make holiday gifts!
