Glittery pine-cones and broken elevators

Today the Sunflowers and the Daisies had separate morning meetings. We each talked a little bit more about doctor tools and the materials we might use to make these tools. Our discussions were not so productive so we will re-visit this topic again next week.

We had yoga with Lakshmi and danced and moved our bodies to a new song. After yoga Izzie, Ryan, Mason, Sasha and Lukas made pine-cone ornaments with glue and glitter and Matthew, Ava, Ryan Q, Lukas, Sam and Oliver did their self-portraits. Ryan Q. and Mason spent awhile at the light table where they made "secret doors." Ava, Evan, Jake and Ashley worked at the sand table and Alex and Sam made a birdhouse with the blocks. Evan and Oliver cut up blue paper and scattered it around the blocks. They said it was "water for bad guys."

Oliver later cut up more tiny pieces of blue paper. He said it was "so in case bad guys manage to get in they will slip." He planned to put them all over the school to protect us.

In Ms. Rebecca's room Luca worked on an elaborate magna-tile structure with Eli. Margot, Izzie and Luca made ornaments by placing beads on pipe-cleaners. Tate and Matthew's elevator stopped working so Izzie used a computer (the hallow block) and tried to fix the elevator.

During our second meeting, the Daisies talked about how busy next week will be and all the activities we have planned and then we read Elmer during lunch. During lunch Tate was excited to tell his friends about the broken elevator.
