The children had yoga with Lakshmi today and are learning many new poses. Today Lakshmi introduced the children to the book My Daddy is a Pretzle and they worked on holding almost every pose.
During work time some children drew pictures of people in their lives that they love. Evan, Oliver and Ryan started off the morning by working with clay while Alexander and Sam worked in the block area building a bird house for Lightning. Then Alexander made pictures for her. When Tate and Eli entered the block area, they too built a birdhouse for Lightning. They used almost all the quad-longs and balanced them on the block shelf with cylinders. In the block area Luca and Margot also worked together making "a birdhouse." Later on in the block area Ryan and Evan made a "block factory that delivers blocks and buttons to construction workers." Sam then came to help.
In the Sunflower's classroom, Izzie, Sasha, Luca, Ava and Sam helped decorate two of the birdhouses with glitter, recyclables and egg shells.
In the writing center, Jake cut pieces of paper and taped them on another paper creating an interesting collage. Ashley made a book using cut of pieces of construction paper and tape. She wrote letters in it.
During lunch we talked about cooking next week for our Thanksgiving feast (which will take place Wed at lunch time).
