At morning meeting today we sang Who Took the Cookie from the Cookie Jar? and counted how many children were in school. Then we sang If You're Happy and You Know It and talked about some of the things that make us happy. Most of the children said, presents, mom, dad and candy. Oliver said pie. We also used hand bells to play melodies and the children guessed which songs we were playing.
While Ava, Ashley, Sam, Jake and Oliver were making corn bread for our Thanksgiving feast tomorrow, many children decided to make cards for Ms. Jenny's birthday today. Isabel, Lukas (and later Oliver) made a pirate ship out of the hollow blocks. Sam, Eli, Ava and Alexander went elbow deep in finger paint on the light table. Ava, Ashley, Jake and Isabel also made good use of the reading center. The children were also eager to put finishing touches on the playground birdhouse. Isabel made a place for snails to hide and play with Lightning and Eli made ice cream out of bottle caps.
At lunch time, the Daisies class made patterns and talked about the clock and the Sunflowers class told Rebecca what she missed while she was absent.
